music lessons
In-person or online
BEGINNERS Lessons are recurring weekly and extremely important in the early stages when developing the nervous system, fine motor skills, auditory and touch sensory areas of the brain—all occur simultaneously. With repetitive movements, patterns, momentum, counting out loud, clapping rhythms; self-talk when correcting trouble spots; students quickly gain confidence and find success. It takes practice … no getting around this.
Piano students read and interpret sheet music, recognize patterns and sequences (as do engineers) and coordinate their hands and fingers (fine motor skills) to play the correct notes, melodies and entire songs.
After learning the basics including theory, Ms. Taylor tailors lessons to students’ favorite genres. She prefers working with beginners.
After earning her B.S. in Family & Child Development (Social Services and Early Childhood Education working her way through KSU as professional musician); eight years as a music sub/tutor for Arlington ISD; finally forming TeachMeMsTaylor in 2010, she learned to work well with not only pre-k, kinder, middle and high schoolers; also adults and seniors who are either beginners or refreshing their musical skills from early life.

piano
At any age, playing piano develops better mental skills and fine motor skills. Learn piano first, then any instrument becomes easier! Lessons begin with classical training; then onward to favorite genres. Ms. Taylor particularly persuades emotional growth studying new age aesthetic artists like Yiruma, Philip Wesley, Brian Crain, Ludovico Einaudi, endless opportunities … anime, video games’ music … tell her what you want to play.

guitar
It’s never too early or too late to pick up a guitar. Guitar lessons offer a fantastic opportunity to learn a new skill, and express yourself creatively. The fine motor skills used are particularly good for older folks wanting to improve dexterity by using the fingers more. Cell phone usage limits fine motor skills’ development. Plus guitar is so so soothing! Most styles eventually taught after learning basics.
